It's graduation season and to celebrate our 800+ JMG 2021 graduates, the Youth Solutions Youth Advisory Council, a group of current and alumni JMG students, wanted to acknowledge this significant milestone in young people's lives. They planned a fun, motivational and moving graduation celebration including a powerful speech from Manny Scott, one of the original freedom writers. Although Manny was unable to join live, he recorded his inspirational story to show our youth they can overcome obstacles and write their own story. Coming off the graduation party which included swag and other prizes, we are excited to keep in touch with our alumni to learn of their future successes. As Crystal Steele, 2021 Youth of the Year, stated in her speech to graduates, “Go out into the world and make your dreams your reality.” The Graduation Celebration is now an annual event hosted by the Youth Advisory Council.
