Iesha Allen-White, a 17-year-old student at Sexton High School, has experienced remarkable growth through her involvement in the Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) program. Since joining, she has gained confidence, developed strong leadership skills, and gained a clearer sense of direction for her future. Iesha is very active both in her community and within the JMG program, participating in numerous activities that have shaped her into a passionate leader. JMG has not only helped her improve her grades and attendance, but it has also equipped her with essential skills in communication, leadership, and responsibility—skills that have empowered her to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities. This led to securing her first job at Quality Dairy, where she demonstrated strong leadership and work ethic, leading to a promotion and management training. With several scholarship opportunities in hand, Iesha plans to attend college after graduation and pursue her passion for education. She aspires to become a school teacher, eager to inspire and help future generations just as she has been supported by JMG. Inspired by the guidance and mentorship she’s received, Iesha is eager to stay connected with the program as an alumna and continue making a positive impact in her community.
Congratulations, Iesha, on being recognized as an Exemplary Youth of the Year at the 2025 Career Development Conference! We are proud of all you’ve accomplished and excited for the bright future ahead!
