Meet Carson Haskin

Before joining the Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) program, Carson, the youngest in his cohort, struggled to find direction, battled shyness, and lacked the confidence needed to realize his full potential. Entering the JMG program at Northwest Education Services Career Tech Center, however, marked a significant turning point for Carson, offering him opportunities to develop leadership skills and gain hands-on experience that fueled his growth and success.

Despite his age, Carson quickly became a driving force in JMG, serving as president of his local program and the Youth Solutions Youth Advisory Council, representing Michigan at the state and national levels. He attended the Jobs for America’s Graduates National Student Leadership Academy for two consecutive years, representing Michigan and advocating for the JMG program.

CTE played a vital role in Carson’s journey, combining classroom learning with real-world application. Through JMG and his CTE program, Carson gained hands-on experience that laid the foundation for his career aspirations. Today, he is actively working in the automotive field, using the skills he developed and remains committed to furthering his career in automotive technology after high school.
