Leadership Days is our annual event focused on leadership and team building. It’s a full day of staff-led activities that allow participants to get to know their fellow Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) youth from around the state and gain confidence in themselves.
The event was held in three separate locations, YMCA Camp Ohiyesa in Holly; Camp Daggett in Petoskey; and YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin in Middleville. Although each organization operates independently, it is through the combined efforts that we created an unforgettable experience for these youth.
One hundred and six youth spent their day interacting with each other through challenging activities that ultimately taught them leadership skills that they will carry well into the future. Participants left with a newfound sense of confidence in their ability to take the challenges brought forward in their everyday lives.
“I was hesitant to attend Leadership Days at first because of my anxiety, but that feeling dissipated throughout the day as I became more and more comfortable around my teammates. It is through our annual youth focused events that we are able to provide youth the opportunities for skills development that help shape their futures. With that in mind, Youth Solutions will be kicking off our annual fundraising campaign on Tuesday November 29, 2022 - also known as Giving Tuesday. The campaign is aptly called Fund the Future because donations support our purpose of inspiring and connecting youth to achieve a future beyond imagination.
