Help close the gap for Michigan’s future

$1.2M in state cuts threatens services for thousands of Michigan youth

Since 2008, Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG), a program of Youth Solutions, has delivered statewide data-driven outcomes, helping more than 40,000 hardest-to-serve youth build brighter futures through academic support, career readiness training, mentoring, and postsecondary planning.

After two consecutive state budget reductions, JMG faces an urgent, unexpected funding gap. Over the past two years, the Michigan Legislature has reduced JMG’s state appropriation by $1.7M — from $5.7M to $4M.

Because JMG partners leverage at least $1 for every $1 in state funding, the total resulting impact of these funding reductions is at least $3.4M for youth services.

Now is the time. Your investment is urgently needed to help close this gap, prevent immediate service reductions, and ensure Michigan youth continue to receive the mentoring, career development, postsecondary planning, and follow-up support they need to succeed.

Michigan’s young people are ready to learn, work, and lead. Let’s match their potential by investing in a proven program.
