My education is in social work, and I have served youth for the majority of my professional life. My wife, Sarah, and I worked for several years as houseparents at a residential childcare facility in Mid-Michigan. For the last year and a half, I worked with Michigan Works! and Youth Solutions as a Career Coach/Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) Specialist.
I’m excited to bring my passion for helping youth succeed to a mission-focused team like Youth Solutions! In being part of the Youth Solutions team, I hope that I can share ideas and build systems and tools that will help teachers and other student mentors to do a better job of meeting the needs of the young people in their care.
I am a born and raised Michigander. I’ve lived for the last seven years in St. Louis, Michigan (the geographic center of the lower peninsula!) with my wife and children. We have six children at home with us ranging in age from 6 months to 16 years old. Together we enjoy Michigan’s four wonderful seasons, road tripping in our 15-passenger van, and playing games (cards, board games, and video games).
