Samantha Finch - Marquette-Alger Technical Middle College - Youth of the Year

From day one, Samantha (Sam) has been an engaged learner, taking to heart her Jobs for Michigan's Graduates “WHY” - to be college, career, and life ready - in all she does. Sam is working toward an Associates in Surgical Technology, while still completing high school requirements at Negaunee High School, to support her long-term goal of becoming a surgeon. Sam is also an active leader in her Career Association, a key part of the JMG program, and is a strong advocate to increase career exploration opportunities and remove transportation barriers for her peers. Sam is a demolisher of barriers, crusher of goals, maximizer of resources, and exceptional leader in any space lucky enough to have her.
