Supporting Michigan’s Youth: The Importance of the Career Development Conference

The Career Development Conference (CDC) is our highly anticipated annual event for the young people we serve across Michigan. It provides Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) youth with an invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience in critical areas such as marketing, interviewing, teamwork, problem solving, and presentation skills. These skills are vital to their future success in the workforce and the CDC provides a platform for them to showcase their abilities.

During the afternoon award ceremony, young people who have participated in the CDC competitions are recognized and celebrated for their achievements. Two JMG participants, along with a deserving JMG alumni, are also recognized as Youth and Alumni of the Year for their outstanding demonstration of leadership skills and unwavering commitment towards achieving their goals. These recognitions serve as a source of motivation and inspiration for our future leaders as they continue to pursue their career aspirations.

However, the CDC cannot happen without the support of donors. The cost of this event is approximately $100 per youth in attendance, and we urge you to consider donating to help sponsor a young person to attend this life-changing event. Your support can help make a difference in the lives of our youth and help prepare them for future employment. To sponsor a youth to attend the CDC, donate here.

We hope you will join us in supporting the CDC and the Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates Program. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of young people and help them achieve a future beyond imagination.
