On February 20th, members of our Youth Solutions team had the incredible opportunity to participate in the University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) A2 Data Dive!
This student-led service event is an annual data hackathon for good, coordinated by UMSI students through the Engaged Learning Office. The event brings together students, faculty, and data professionals to help local nonprofit and civic organizations analyze data, solve challenges, and develop impactful solutions. This year's A2 Data Dive was centered around UMSI’s theme: The Future of Work, exploring how data-driven strategies can enhance workforce development, education, and career preparedness.
Thanks to these brilliant minds, we gained valuable insights into our YS Foundations student data, helping us make smarter, data-driven decisions to better serve Michigan youth. One of the most exciting outcomes of the event was the opportunity to examine a new tool that could enhance how we collect and analyze data. This tool has the potential to streamline our processes, making data analysis more efficient and actionable as we continue to strengthen career development programs across the state.
We are grateful to UMSI and the A2 Data Dive team for this incredible opportunity and look forward to applying these insights to further our mission!
