Leadership Days is our annual event focused on leadership and team building, and this year we were able to hold events in-person! It’s a full day of staff-led activities that allow participants to get to know their fellow JMG youth from around the state and gain confidence in themselves. Fostering leadership skills development is just one way that JMG helps youth achieve a future beyond imagination.
The event was held in three separate locations, YMCA Camp Ohiyesa in Holly; Camp Daggett in Petoskey; and YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin in Middleville. Staff at each of the camp locations led JMG youth through a variety of fun and engaging team building activities. Highlights for the three locations can be seen here. While more than 94 youth and 29 adults were able to attend in-person, those who were unable to travel due to COVID restrictions or other circumstances, were still able to participate virtually by competing in a Spaghetti Marshmallow Tower Challenge. JMG Specialist Ashley Carter’s Waverly High School class won a pizza party for the tallest tower. Be sure to check out the winning tower on our Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates Facebook page.
