A core part of the Youth Solutions strategic plan is to raise the youth voice and encourage them to be vocal advocates for the organization. On September 15, we are offering a new opportunity for youth engagement, through the launch of our Alumni Network. Over the years, several specialists and youth have expressed a strong desire to create an Alumni Network as a way to stay in touch with the program, receive additional support and network with other alumni.
Natasha Rzanca, a Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) alumni and current Youth Solutions Intern, was among the first who spoke to our leadership team about the need for an alumni network. Her experience in JMG helped shape who she is today and she is actively involved in the planning and implementation of this network. “JMG impacted my life in a HUGE way. With my specialist’s help I not only made it to graduation, but I graduated with honors. I’m excited to join the alumni network to be able to network with other alumni and to further my relationship with Youth Solutions and JMG,” expressed Natasha.
For 14 years, Youth Solutions, through the JMG program has helped over 22,000 young people successfully complete high school and move on to further education, employment or the military. The Alumni Network will create a place where alumni can stay connected to each other and Youth Solutions, while receiving access to resources and opportunities post graduation. In addition, we hope they will help raise awareness and contribute to the success of our programs by becoming brand ambassadors for Youth Solutions. Throughout the year, several alumni events and activities will be held across the state to give alumni an opportunity to expand their personal and professional networks.
