What’re you doing now? Did you go to college, a trade school, or into the military? If so, where?
I am currently working as a Client Service Professional at H&R Block. I am taking a class to become a tax professional. I’m looking forward to going back to school for business and hopefully starting a nonprofit organization of my own.
How did JMG help you prepare for life after high school?
JMG helped me gain the valuable skills, experiences and tools I need to achieve my goals. JMG taught me to be determined; whatever I want my future to be is completely up to me. It helped me realize that possibilities are endless when you work hard and are determined to succeed. JMG also taught me how to handle rejection and explore multiple options.
How did the JMG program impact your life?
JMG gave me an idea of what my future could be. JMG made me realize that you can brighten other people's futures when you give back. I love helping people and JMG is one of the main reasons why I plan to start a nonprofit organization of my own.
What did JMG ignite in you?
JMG ignited determination in me.
What is your favorite memory from your time in JMG?
My favorite memory would be attending Legislative Day. It was a great opportunity to learn more about our state government and speak to legislators about my experience in the JMG program and advocate for my community.
What would you say is your biggest accomplishment since graduation?
My biggest accomplishment since graduating is not giving up. There are a lot of things I didn’t/ still don’t understand about life, a lot of things I been through, lack of support, lack of encouragement, and I’m still not giving up. I want too much out of life and I work too hard to not get it. It’s taken me a lot more time but I’m no longer rushing the process.
If you could give someone thinking about joining JMG one piece of advice, what would it be?
DO IT! JMG is a life changing experience that will boost your confidence. You may be able to do a lot more with JMG under your belt.
Share your hobbies, do you have any pets, what do you like to do in your spare time?
My hobbies are tutoring, researching, reading sometimes, and listening to music.
